Nicholas County Commission - Home

Due to the recent floods that have devastated communities in Nicholas County and surrounding counties, many West Virginians are volunteering, donating supplies, donating money and doing whatever possible to to help out. Nicholas County has the following distribution centers set up. 1. Richwood Junior High Gym, 30 Valley Ave., Richwood, 26261 2. Birch River Elementary School, 485 Birch River Road, Birch River, 26610 3. Summersville Distribution Center, 858 Broad Street, Summersville, 26651 4. Wilderness Fire Department, E. Mt. Lookout Rd., Mt. Lookout, 26678 5. Dixie Grade School, 1988 Dixie Hwy, Dixie, 25059 We know at this point in time that the Summersville Distribution Center is looking for volunteers to help unload goods from trucks, to help in loading items into vehicles, to help bag groceries, etc... The hours of operation for the Disaster Recovery Center in Richwood at Richwood City Hall are from 7:00 a.m., to 7:00 p.m., (open seven days a week). The Distribution Center in Summersville near Little Ceasars Pizza,opens from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and volunteers are needed, especially Saturday, Sunday and perhaps on Monday. Your service will be deeply appreciated. For FEMA you may call 1-800-621-3362 or visit WV Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster - 1-800-451-1954 or visit American Red Cross is actively working in Nicholas County making hot meals and snacks to hand out to flood victims and have set up at the Restoration Fellowship Church in Mount Nebo. We cannot be thankful enough for the out pouring of love and kindness of volunteers, for supplies, materials and equipment that have come from both near and far. We are deeply appreciative. To people who have taken advantage of this disaster for their own personal gain, and you know who you are, we trust that you will be dealt with in some fashion as time goes by.

Nicholas County residents and individual's residing out of county and state who own property in Nicholas County have the ability to pay their property taxes  with their debit and/or credit card. In addition, a card reader will be installed within the Office of the Nicholas County Clerk to accept debit and/or credit card payments as well. A surcharge will be added.
