FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS DISPLAY -
Annual Independence Day celebration in Summersville features live entertainment and a fireworks show in the Northside area. SCENIC MOUNTAIN TRIATHLON -
Triathlon, this annual Richwood event in July is held in the beautiful Monongahela National Forest. This day of swimming, running and biking attracts athletes from across the U.S. For additional information contact (304)846-6790.
NICHOLAS COUNTY FAIR -
Held at the Nicholas County Veterans Memorial Park, the fair kicks off with a Queen's pageant and features live gospel and country music at the bandstand. WV STATE GOSPEL SINGING CONVENTION -
The WV Mountain State Gospel Singers Corporation has been holding this annual "song convention" in Mt. Nebo since 1950. The week-long event features gospel singers, quartets, and choirs from all over the Southeast. Camper hook-ups and food available on the grounds. CHERRY RIVER FESTIVAL -
This annual festival held in August also acts as the homecoming for many Richwood natives. The week long festivities include parades, food and craft vendors, live music and street dances. For additional information contact (304)846-6790.
NICHOLAS COUNTY POTATO FESTIVAL -

CARNIFEX FERRY CIVIL WAR WEEKEND -
Held every other year (odd numbered years) on the weekend in September after Labor Day, the Battle of Carnifex Ferry is reenacted on the same ground as the original conflict. the two day event includes living history demonstrations and Civil War memorabilia/souvenirs for sale. During the fall draw-down of Summersville Lake, Gauley River rafting season lasts for six weekends.
